It is where children and beginners learn to ski or go sledging, a few steps from where you stay.
About the place
The slope is about 406 m long, at least 62 m wide and drops 35 m. The double T-bar was modernised in December 2018 and can carry up to 1,200 people an hour; beginners have a separate lift. At the bottom there is a rental centre for skis and sledges and wooden huts selling hot drinks. In autumn 2025 a snowmaking machine was installed so the slope can open even when little snow falls.
Snow usually lies from December to March. The 2024–2025 season ran from 15 December to 20 March, and the 2025–2026 season also started in December. In summer, Durău Park has a summer toboggan, tubing, trampolines and bungee, open at weekends.
Good to know
- On 6 November 2026 Durău Park said the 2026–2027 winter schedule would be published soon; check the website, Facebook or the webcam before you come.
- In winter, mountain gendarmes patrol the slope and nearby trails; give children a helmet and keep an eye on them.
- Skis and sledges can be rented at the bottom of the slope.
